Ponza harbour is a small natural amphytheatre formed
by the hills of the «Madonna» and «Punta Bianca».
It can be reached from Formia, Terracina, S. Felice Circeo and Anzio
by motorboats and hydrofoil. The architect Winspeare in Bourbon
times designed this harbour, building up two storeys out of the
remains of the ancient Romans installations. The harbour is dominated
by the Bourbon Tower, a grandiose building developed on a previously
existing Roman watching tower, and the Church with a Bramantesque
dome, devoted to S. Silverio and Domitilla. The dock
is located on the left side of the entrance of the harbour, in the
most protected area from the prevailing east wind, closed to the
dock of the Caremar shipping line, in an idea position near by the
hystorical center of the village.the capacity is of about 40 boats
until 25mt lenght and draught of 6 mt.
